appear on the dashboard. They are free to reproduce in news, educational and
policy contexts provided the credit line stays legible:

The source note carries the caveats that make the numbers defensible, including

Data source for both: Maine Forest Service Wood Processor Reports, 2009 to 2023,
with the 2023 report published June 20, 2025. These are administrative filings
under 12 M.R.S. section 8884 by primary processors, firewood dealers and
exporters, so there is no sampling interval, though nonresponse remains.
